Winter is here! As our lakes start to freeze over, we wanted to provide the community with some fun activities that you can do with your family or friends this holiday season:

• Ice Fishing / Skating: Bundle up and try your hand at ice fishing or ice skating on Lake Wawasee, Lake Papakeechie, or Syracuse lake.
  Important safety note: only attempt if the ice is thick enough!
• Winter Hiking: The Syracuse-Wawasee Trails are perfect for a winter hike or snowmobiling. The snow-covered scenery is truly magical. Picture perfect, actually.
• Sledding and Tubing: Find a gentle slope near any of the lakes and enjoy some sledding or tubing with family and friends.
• Hot Cocoa by the Fire: After a day of outdoor activities, warm up with a cup of hot cocoa by a cozy fire.
• Christmas Cookie Baking: Whether it is baking cookies from scratch or popping pre-made ones in the oven, warm up with a creative and delicious baking session. Why not try your hand at some sugar cookies shaped and decorated like our lakes?
